    @anondeguerre @CasPiancey fiver.com is liable here, that's the whole point of platform economics. saying the US's "public option" for verifying employees is bad is whataboutism-- you're dodging the point. an employment relationship obligates you to do due diligence, period.

      @anondeguerre @CasPiancey if fiver or everify or anyone else takes that obligation and does a bad job, well buyer beware. being able to hire an anon isn't a God given right it's just a first world privilege. you may not like todays sanctions law or labor law but dodging them isn't some noble protest.
