@csuwildcat @hello__caitlin as a hispanic who's been following the alt-right, neo-nazism, and other forms of fascism my whole life (including in latin america), i wasn't surprised. the proud boys, for example, have had a few high-profile latino members since day 1, as have various Blue Lives groups, etc.

@csuwildcat @hello__caitlin but my point is orthogonal: surprise at non-white upholders of "european culture" is a distraction and an excuse, used to deflect responsibility for militaristic and stochastic rhetoric coming home to roost. you froth people up for years with violent talk and they do violence!
