    @LindaWesson @ForeignPolicy housing is very dysfunctional in germany due to a lot of political gridlocks across parties and sub-federal levels of government; it's one of germany's hot-button issues on which no progress ever seems to get made. new coalition is weirdly YIMBY, tho, so it get better in a year?

      @LindaWesson @ForeignPolicy long story short, housing is the biggest problem in the refugee system, actually, partic in berlin and the denser cities. berlin is currently at 0.7% availability, whereas most consider a "healthy" rental market 5~10%
