@RottenInDenmark I live for three years in a smaller, more remote, and much poorer Indiana college town, and I can sympathize with much in this piece. Our town's police and sheriff forces were v openly very racist and classist, same housing issues met with far less grace by teaparty red govt.

@RottenInDenmark What I mean is, hoosiers (partic blue ones) will hate your piece for airing dirty laundry and non-hoosiers won't understand how his term was pretty damn progressive by indiana's v particular standards and traditions. sad all around. there arent 2 americas, there are 50

@RottenInDenmark and by some metrics, indiana is the 50th. i miss it, strangely-- in a lot of ways, it's like the poorer parts of rural germany. Thanks for the piece. popula.com/2018/11/06/indiana-los-angeles/
